Another day, another workout…in another great American city:
Austin, Texas
How fortunate I am to experience and explore the #1 place to live in the United States for the past two years (U.S. News & World Report), the “City of the Violet Crown” with its unofficial slogan “Keep Austin Weird”, the state capital of Texas as well as the southernmost state capital in the contiguous 48 states, the “Live Music Capital of the World” and of course, home to the music, film and interactive festival, South by Southwest (SXSW), not to mention the Austin City Limits Festival(ACL) held every year in Zilker Park.
Austin also marks the 7th major U.S. city in as many years where I’ll be teaching my fitness style of Tola Yoga through the end of July. Because no doubt life is all about the journey while relentlessly pursuing your passion, regardless of where it takes you.
Have an amazing Father’s Day everyone, and get your workout in!
Good things come in threes, so this week Tola Talks is all about celebrating three very special 10 year anniversaries.
The first, a decade of friendship with my lovely co-host, Actress/Producer Troy Titus-Adams. Second, it’s our 10th show since returning to LA Talk Radio – the second time around. And third, it’s my 10 year anniversary of sobriety. That’s right, an amazing decade of hangover-free mornings…not to mention more than $50,000 worth of savings!
There’s also some sober talk about going the mile, i.e., adding an extra 10% to your exercise regime, allowing transgender individuals in the military, plus one of my favorite leadership books by best selling author Dr. John C. Maxwell, Talent is Never Enough.
Have an awesome week everyone, and remember to get your workout in!
Congratulations to author, psychotherapist, yoga teacher and my dear friend, Erin Mason, for publishing a tender and heartwarming story, Growing Grace, about adoption from the biological mother’s perspective.
Tola also Talksabout America’s obesity epidemic and how it affects 36% of all adults and nearly 20% of all children and adolescents, and more specifically, how I would financially reward everyone for being fit…If I Were President. Not to mention fitness tips for losing that unwanted weight.
Super fun time with co-host Vi Vared talking #MeToo, Melania Trump and The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay. Not to mention Marilyn Monroe and If I Were President I would legalize everything.
Tola Talks is now available on iTunes, Google Play and Stitcher where you can subscribe or download past episodes. Peace – R
Had a great time on LATalkRadio’s “Sam in the Morning” show this past Wednesday with Sam & Wren. You can isten to the show below by clicking the play button…I’m introduced at 11:07mins.
Thanks again Sam & Wren…it was fun talking Hollywood, pumpkin patches, Wall Street and the Oct 2nd re-launch of Tola Talks. Peace – R
Hey everyone, you can catch me on the radio tomorrow, Wednesday at 10am PST with ‘Sam in the Morning’ talking Tola Talks and anything else Sam and Rachel have in mind.
And if you haven’t seen the news on social media, after three years aways teaching Tola Yogain Chicago and Seattle, I’m re-launching my talk show on LATalkRadioevery Monday at 4p.
Tola Talks is a weekly show bringing you my “21st Century Talk for a No-Bullshit World”. No doubt there’s a lot of BS in the world, so I give it to you straight with seven different segments including: If I Were President, the Get Your Shit Together Award, Books-Movies-Music & More, World News, Rant & Raves (aka WTF), Fitness & Tola Yoga, and Celebrity Guest Interviews & Listener Calls.
Here’s a compilation of me introducing Chicago’s major tourist attractions including Navy Pier, Wrigley Field, the Mag Mile and the beaches of Lake Michigan. It’s where history meets trivia, meets fitness & Yoga and more.
We filmed YogaStyles of RICH and the Almost Famous: Chicago during the sweltering summer of 2016, and had a blast the last day of filming at the Damen Silos & Ohio Street Beach…when temperatures reached 108 degrees.
Thanks for watching and have a wonderful holiday! Peace – R
I’m heels over head for teaching my 500th Yoga class since arriving in Chicago last September.
I’m grateful to my courageous students, fellow teachers and managers, and the owners of Chicago Athletic Clubs for giving me the opportunity to spread my passion for fitness & yoga, and specifically my style of Tola Yoga.
Looking forward to inspiring the world with YogaStyles of RICH and the Almost Famous.
