FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 06/30/16

YogaStyles of RICH and the Almost Famous Sets its Sites and Cities

Chicago, IL: With the filming of YogaStyles of RICH and the Almost Famous: Chicago less than a month away, the show’s creator and world’s best Yogatainer, Rich Tola, announced plans to visit 11 more U.S. cities plus 12 international cities to round-out Seasons 1 and 2, produced through Tola’s company, Two Strike Hitter Productions.

Yoga expert and lifelong fitness virtuoso, Rich Tola aims to inspire everyone on the planet. “It doesn’t matter where you are or what you’re doing, anybody can squeeze in a measly 5 minutes of Yoga everyday, and I will prove that. Spark it up with a quickie, a simple Warrior pose or balancing, plus it’ll help you reinforce a clear and positive mindset throughout your day,” declares Tola. “Not to mention that every practitioner, from beginner-to-advanced, should know the proper body mechanics of every pose, especially the twists, and more importantly, how to come in and out of difficult positions while avoiding injury.”

Tola and his band of beautiful “Yoga babes” appropriately called The Namaste Five, will also be demonstrating creative and challenging sequences with Rich leading the charge. While most of his teaching will be done to unsuspecting residents and tourists nearby historic landmarks and major attractions, Rich and his rockstar yoginis will take you to a new level, “We’ll show you how to make the hard stuff look easy,” Tola said.

The 12 U.S. cities for Season 1 include: Chicago, Denver, Austin, Philadelphia, Seattle, Portland, Minneapolis, San Francisco, Boca Raton, Boston, Boise and Washington D.C. And kudos to seven of these utopias who also made Yoga Journal magazine’s “America’s Top Yoga Towns,” including Chicago, Denver, Austin, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. The 12 international cities for Season 2 include: Beijing, Barcelona, Paris, Dublin, Sydney, Havana, Dubai, Tel Aviv, Singapore, London, Rio de Janeiro and Prague.

Since becoming a Certified Yoga Teacher in 2006, Rich has taught more than 25,000 students in over 2,000 classes throughout the United States. He also produced nearly 30 hours of instructional videos and DVDs including his film, Boulevard Zen (2009). Rich received BSE from The Wharton School (PENN) and MBA from The Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern).

Help is on the way!

“Holy expanding waistline Batman, America just keeps getting fatter”. Now if you’re a fan of the infamous Caped Crusader and read this morning’s newspaper, this is definitely something Robin would say. Because in today’s Los Angeles Times, a new report on our nation’s weight crisis – as prepared by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Trust for America Health – says “16 states are experiencing steep increases in adult obesity, and none has seen a downturn in the last four years”. So what’s up with that? With an obese population of 19.8%, Colorado is the ONLY state with an adult obesity rate below 20%. Furthermore, “adult obesity rates have doubled or nearly doubled in 17 states. Two decades ago, not a single state had an obesity rate above 15%. Now all states do.” But no worries folks…help is on the way! Soon my team will embark upon my FAT BURN AMERICA TOUR, visiting every state in America, 100 cities in 100 days, filming my fat burning workouts to promote daily fitness & yoga, and to raise much needed funds for my charity, The Boulevard Zen Foundation. As you know, we teach yoga to women and children living in domestic violence shelters. And since the report also states that “obesity remains a condition disproportionately affecting those with poor education and income, and closely tied to minority status”, it’s all the more reason to bring my FREE Fat Burning Workouts to the public. Our goal: to EDUCATE, EMPOWER, INSPIRE and ENTERTAIN. So get ready and get set with today’s 5 Minute Fat Burning Workout #94 – Leg Stretches. Enjoy and we’ll see you soon! – R

Try and try again

This morning I read the obituary for Dick Wimmer, a creative writing instructor and author who was turned down by publishers and agents 162 times over 25 years.  His first novel, Irish Wine, was conceived in the 1960’s then streamlined in the 1980’s – after his 80th rejection – until it was good enough to be published.  When finally released,  The New York Times raved about it, calling it “a taut, finely written, exhaustingly exuberant first novel”.  A wonderful reward for never giving up!  And a pretty simple lesson to try and try again.  So if there’s anything in life that feels hopeless and insurmountable, like your daily fitness program, think of Dick Wimmer and all his 162 rejections.  And enjoy strengthening your legs with today’s 5 Minute Fat Burning Workout #89.  – R

Real love is…willing to share a seat on the bus

Oprah Winfrey once said, “The roses, the lovely notes, the dining and dancing are all welcome and splendid. But when the Godiva is gone, the gift of real love is having someone who’ll go the distance with you. Someone who, when the wedding day limo breaks down, is willing to share a seat on the bus.”  Although I’ve never been married I have been in love.  Thus, I would agree with Oprah, because real love is about courage and selflessness…and the ability to get on that bus and ultimately make it to the altar. Congratulations and my best to The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge!  – R

Biggest and Brightest

As the sun sets in the west today, it will be the biggest and brightest it’s been in the past 20 years.  According to NASA, this so-called ‘super-moon’ will appear about 14% bigger and 30% brighter.  Why such grandness?  Because the moon’s perigee – that point in the moon’s oval orbital path where it’s closest to the Earth – will occur within one hour of the monthly astronomical phase of the full moon.  “A rarely seen spectacle of illumination and size”, says astronomer Geoff Chester at the U.S. Naval Observatory in Washington. So if you have 5 minutes tonight, go outside and enjoy this rare spectacle. Better yet, take your phone along and try Workout #24 under a beautiful moonlit sky!

Everything worth doing takes time

Have you heard of the new 787 Dreamliner that’s due to hit the market this fall?  It’s promised to be the most advanced, fuel-stingy passenger jet ever made – at a mere $200 million each.  But it’s three years overdue and billions of dollars over budget.  No worries!  Because once it’s ready, travelers will experience shorter and more comfortable trips in a passenger plane that’s the fastest, largest, brightest, lightest, and cleanest – with the purest air quality – ever made.  Sounds great to me.  Because everything worth doing takes time.  Like building a better and more durable plane to achieving a healthier, leaner and better looking body by way of daily fat burning.  That’s why my 15 Minute Fat Burning Workouts are designed to be effective and easy-to-follow without all that jumping around.  More importantly, I believe a simple and attainable workout program is worth doing, but also one that’s successful over time.  And I say attainable because they’re low impact exercises based on yoga principles that anyone can do for only 15 minutes a day – 1% of your life.  Unlike most high-impact fat burning programs that are more complicated and require much more time.  So take a long term approach to your health and fitness, and just like the new Dreamliner, look forward to the results you patiently desire.  Enjoy your workout – R

Peaceful pool of water

My yoga teacher used that phrase today in Savasana at the end of class. For those who’ve never taken a yoga class, Savasana is the final resting pose when you totally let go and experience the sensations from your practice.  It’s awesome!  It’s also that quiet surrender to your feelings and affects of the physical and mental challenges you just endured. Yoga truly helps you achieve that peaceful pool of water while wringing the body of all sorts of negative things.  Even if it’s practicing Warrior II for 5 minutes a day, pushing the body to limits that challenge your focus and your mind.  So do some yoga and get a little more peaceful.  And staying with that peaceful theme, check out my friend Molly’s Peaceful Offering – she’s amazing!  PS – she’s the beautiful blond at the beginning and the end
